Catch a Spark!

Spark Sunday School begins this Sunday.

Additional teachers are still needed for the preschool class and high school class. If you’re interested, please see Steve Elbert or Pastor Ken.

Upcoming Meetings at St. Luke’s.

All members of St. Luke’s are expected to participate in the life of the congregation by actively participating in one or more of the committees of the congregation. Being part of a committee is a great way to help keep the congregation alive and well. A handful of members should not be expected to do all the work. “Many hands make light work.”
September 22: Stewardship Committee – Room 302
September 22: Evangelism Committee – Room 302
September 29: Property Committee – Room 302

There is much work to be done since the school is no longer using our building. Ideas and willing hands are needed to accomplish all that needs to be done. Come with ideas for repairing and sprucing up our building.

The Village at Orchard Ridge is a new state-of-the-art continuing care community being built in Winchester, Virginia. You can learn all about it on Wednesday, September 29, at 11:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Representatives from Orchard Ridge will offer an informative presentation, and lunch is included. Please sign up in the hallway near the secretary’s office if you plan to attend this presentation and luncheon (or hit Reply and let me know by email).
This not-for-profit community for active adults (age 60 and better) is affiliated with the National Lutheran Home in Rockville, Maryland. It will offer a fee-for-service structure and an on-site continuum of service and care. The community is scheduled for completion sometime in 2013, and pre-construction prices are being offered now.
